Advocacy & Legislative Action
The Kitsap Building Association represents the housing and construction industry in policy discussions at the local and state levels. We work with elected officials, government agencies, community partners, and industry professionals to advance practical policies that strengthen Kitsap County and improve the quality of life for its residents.
Our advocacy focuses on expanding housing choices, creating more opportunities for homeownership, and supporting responsible growth that meets the needs of current and future generations. We also advocate for economic opportunity and a healthy building industry that supports local businesses, creates family-wage careers, and provides the homes and community spaces our region needs.
KBA believes housing affordability, environmental stewardship, and economic vitality can be advanced together. Through collaboration, informed policymaking, and clear and effective regulation, we work to reduce unnecessary barriers to housing while supporting safe construction, responsible development, and the protection of Kitsap County's natural resources.

Get Involved
Strong advocacy starts with active members. KBA members have two primary ways to get involved in Government Affairs—participating in the Government Affairs Committee and supporting the Affordable Housing Council. Whether you want to lend your industry expertise, engage with policymakers, or help support candidates who understand housing and construction issues, your involvement helps strengthen the voice of our industry.
Government Affairs Committee
Help shape KBA's advocacy and legislative priorities.
The Government Affairs Committee brings KBA members together to discuss the policies and regulations affecting housing, construction, responsible growth, economic opportunity, and our local building industry.
Members can attend committee meetings, share their professional expertise, learn about current legislative and regulatory issues, and help guide KBA's positions and advocacy efforts. The committee also helps build relationships with local and state elected officials to ensure decision-makers hear directly from the professionals working in our industry.
Affordable Housing Council
Help support candidates who understand the building industry.
The Affordable Housing Council (AHC) is KBA's political action committee and plays an important role in the association's candidate endorsement process.
Members can participate in candidate interviews, help evaluate candidates seeking public office, and contribute to the AHC. Contributions allow KBA to support candidates who understand the challenges facing the building industry and are committed to practical solutions that expand housing opportunities and support responsible growth.
