KBA Foundation
Founded in 2003 and established as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2025, the Kitsap Building Association Foundation is dedicated to strengthening our community and building the future of the local construction industry.
Through workforce development, education, scholarships, mentorship, training, and community partnerships, the Foundation creates opportunities for individuals to explore rewarding careers in the trades while helping develop the skilled workforce our region needs.
As the charitable arm of the Kitsap Building Association, the Foundation brings industry and community together to invest in people, create opportunities, and build a stronger future for Kitsap County

Through mentorship, education, and strong community partnerships, we create opportunities, promote industry best practices, and give back through impactful local initiatives that support individuals, families, and the broader community.
Get to Know Us
The Builder Grant Program gives young adults ages 18–24 the opportunity to explore a career in the building trades through six weeks of paid, hands-on experience with a KBA member company.
Participants are paired with a KBA member who serves as their employer and mentor, providing real-world training, guidance, and an inside look at what a career in the trades can offer. Participants are paid for their work by the mentoring company and receive additional support from the KBA Foundation, including $250 at the start of the program and another $250 upon successful completion of the six weeks.
At the end of the program, the mentor company has the opportunity to offer the participant a permanent, full-time position, creating a direct pathway from hands-on training to a career in the industry.
